日本語に「なまむぎなまごめなまたまご」「とうきょうとっきょきょかきょく」などの早口ことばがあるように、英語にも早口言葉があります。
早口言葉の使われ方とその例
早口言葉は、英語ではTongue twisters （タンツイスター）と呼ばれています。
言いにくい言葉を早口で話す言葉遊びで、発音と流暢さを練習して改善するための素晴らしい手段となります。
また1つの音の繰り返しである頭韻法を利用し、アクセントを改善するのにも役立ちます。
子供だけではなく、俳優や政治家など、明瞭な話し方を訓練したい人も利用しています。

アメリカのサイエンスライターであるウィリアム・パウンドストーンは、

人気の早口言葉である
